USS Los Angeles SSN-688

The Commanders are listed at: ComSubron Six

The Commodores I worked for were Captain A. B. Scott, Jr. until July 1977, when Captain D.M. Smith, USN Assumed.
We launched the USS Los Angeles, SSN-688, and the USS Baton Rouge, SSN-689. If anyone knows sea stories about them, let me know. I certainly shuffled a lot of papers for them! Commodore Smith discharged me honorably
on 23 November 1977, after four years and three months in submarines. He supported my requested Admirals Mast
to remain active despite my injuries, and I still wish we could have pulled that off!

Some non-quals will say "their are no Commodores in Peacetime, but the title was important to us while we were winning the
Cold War! Take a look at this very good history of Submariners and our Dolphins!

I'll put some pictures here soon!

But why don't we just go look at submarines!?
